We need your bikes!
The Bike Project relies heavily on bicycle donations to keep running successfully.
What can I donate?
We take all bikes in any size or condition if they have all or most of their parts. Feel free to ring us if you’re not sure.
Where can I donate?
You can donate at any of our drop-off points.
Our London Bike Hubs are marked in the map below. Please check the details carefully, as drop-off points may have limited opening hours and require you to contact them a little in advance. We’re always looking for new drop-off points; please get in touch if you think you might be able to help.
We also have a drop-off point in Grandpont, Oxford. Please contact us for further instructions on how to drop off a bike in Oxford.
Regrettably, we are unable to collect individual donations, but for bulk donations of 10+ bikes within Greater London, please get in touch and we will arrange a van to pick them up.
If you live outside of London or Oxford, we can help put you in touch with an organisation closer to you.
How do I donate?
- Check whether any bikes you donate are registered with bikeregister.com. We cannot donate bikes which are still registered to other owners. This check takes less than one minute; you will need the frame number, which is usually located underneath the bottom bracket (where the pedals attach to the frame). If you have registered your bike, please log in to your bike register account and transfer the ownership to firstname.lastname@example.org before you donate it.
- Fill out a gift aid form here. A small proportion of the bikes that we receive are sold through The Bike Shop to generate funds, the proceeds of which support The Bike Project, which ensures our long-term sustainability. With a gift aid form, we can claim back 25p for every £1. You can download the form here and hand it in when you donate, or email it over to us.
- Drop your bike off and let us do the rest!
