We provide bikes to all asylum seekers, and people who have been granted refugee status within the last 5 years. If you fit into this criteria, or know someone who does, simply fill out the form below to join the waiting list.
Once we have a bike available which is the right size, you will receive a text message or email (depending on your selected preference) inviting you to an appointment to collect the bike. You must bring the same ID you used to register to get the bike. Please note that current waiting times are around 3 months.
If you have already received a bike from us, and need to fix it, please bring it back to the workshop on a Thursday from 5 – 8pm.
Please note, if you already have a bike, unfortunately we cannot give you parts or help you fix it, however, there are lots of community organisations that can help. Please email us for a list of those we know about.
Request to go on The Bike Project Waiting List
If you are referring young people under 16, they need permission from their guardian to get a bike – you can print and bring a copy of our permission slip below – or an email or phone call is ok too.
Many foster parents do like to come along with the people they are caring for, which we encourage too.
If you work for a youth group, or as a social worker or other responsible adult, you can also sign the permission form in loco-parentis as a representative of the organisation you are working or volunteering for, however we strongly recommend that you ensure all guardians of the young people you work with are aware they will be bringing a bike home with them.
