Professional view from Stu
This behemoth of a bike has bags of vintage charm with its brown paint job and swept back handlebars. If you need a no-nonsense city commuter and have a soft spot for the vintage steel aesthetic, this Raleigh will be right up your street.
Built from world renowned Reynolds 531 lightweight steel tubing, this frame will last a lifetime and tips the scales at just 12kgs. Not bad for a bike of this size! Thanks to it's long steerer and sweptback handlebars, it's got a comfortable riding position without compromising too much speed. You'll have 10 gears over two ranges giving you plenty of options for crawling uphill as well as building up some speed on the flats, whilst sensible 32mm tyres provide a good balance between comfort and speed. And with a whole heap of new parts, you can be sure this Raleigh will ride like a dream despite its venerable age!
This Raleigh arrived at our workshop with a good patina but needing a bit of TLC. Our professional mechanics have lovingly restored it replacing the Brake Cables, Chain, Freewheel, Front Wheel, Gear Cables, Inner Tubes, Pedals, Rear Wheel, and Saddle before carrying out a full check-over and tune-up service.
Best for: Tall riders!
