Across the UK, businesses are increasingly looking for meaningful ways to fulfil their Corporate and Social Responsibility goals (CSR) and make a positive social impact. From charitable partnerships and employee volunteering to Environments, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives and community engagement, organisations of all sizes are recognising that responsible business practices not only support charities and local communities, but also strengthen brand reputation, employee wellbeing and long-term sustainability.
At The Bike Project, we’re lucky to work with some brilliant corporate partners – and AHMM (Allford Hall Monaghan Morris) has truly gone the extra mile. As their Charity of the Year 2025, we’ve been blown away by the creativity, generosity, and genuine commitment of the entire AHMM team. Over the course of 2025, AHMM raised a grand total of £10,500 donations for The Bike Project, making an enormous difference to the charity and the refugees we work with.
From hands-on volunteering to bold fundraising feats, here’s a look at how AHMM has pedalled alongside us so far – and, we hope, inspiration for other organisations who want to get rolling too.
Warming Up the Wheels: Quizzes, Chats & Creative Support
🏅 Office Quiz Fundraiser
Just before Easter, AHMM kicked things off with an office quiz. It helped bring The Bike Project right into the heart of the office, sparking conversations and setting the tone for the year.
📐 Pro Bono Workshop Support
Architects Jack and Michael visited our workshop to lend their professional expertise, exploring how we can make the absolute most of our space. As a charity that refurbishes hundreds of bikes a year, every square metre counts – and their insights have already set ideas in motion.
🍽 Lunch & Learn
We joined AHMM for a Lunch & Learn session, where Hannah shared more about our mission and how a bike can be transformational for a refugee rebuilding their life in the UK. Staff asked brilliant questions, and left thinking about new ways they could get involved.
Hands-On Impact: Biking, Servicing & Selling
🔧 On-Site Bike Servicing
In one bustling day, our superstar mechanics Dave and Ben serviced over 25 bikes at AHMM HQ. Staff left ready to take on smoother, safer commutes – and together, the event raised £1,000 for refugee cyclists.
💻 Second-Hand IT Sales
A creative fundraising idea we loved: AHMM has been selling second-hand IT equipment back to staff, donating proceeds to The Bike Project. This year alone, it brought in an amazing £1,475 – a win-win for sustainability and social impact.
🧗♀️ Abseil Fundraiser
Not everyone spends their workday dangling off iconic buildings, but Ana and Hannah did just that – abseiling down the Lloyd’s of London building and raising £1,067 in the process. Truly fearless fundraising!
🚴 London to Brighton Ride
Eight incredible AHMM cyclists took on the London to Brighton ride, conquering the hills and raising a huge £2,412.88.
Inspiring the Next Generation: The AHMM Summer School
One of the most exciting collaborations this year has been the AHMM Summer School, themed INCLUSIV[CITY].
Each year, AHMM runs a week-long programme for London state school students aged 16–18 who are exploring architecture. This year, the brief centres around inclusivity in urban design – and The Bike Project is the spark.
Students will:
- Investigate inclusive design for refugees
- Work within the context of the Barbican Centre
- Take inspiration from AHMM’s pro bono work with The Bike Project and Migrateful
- Reimagine public spaces through a lens of social inclusion and multi-generational access
We’re honoured to play a part in shaping conversations around inclusive cities – and to inspire young designers to think about the role bikes can play in connecting communities.
Festive Creativity and Ongoing Engagement
🖊 Inktober Donations
Throughout October, AHMM donated £5 for every staff drawing submitted, collecting over £350. Creativity for a cause – what’s not to love?
🎁 Christmas Makers Fair
In December, AHMM hosted its much-loved festive market featuring designers, makers, and small creative businesses from across its community. Table fees and raffle funds supported The Bike Project, with over £1,000.
Riding Further, Together
What makes the AHMM partnership so special is its variety. It’s not just one fundraiser or one event – it’s a culture of participation, generosity, and enthusiasm. They’ve brought architectural skills, athletic stamina, artistic flair, and community spirit to the table.
To everyone at AHMM: thank you.
You’re helping refugees experience freedom, independence, and joy through the simple gift of a bike.
