Bikes are brilliant. We all know that. But in the hands of a refugee, a bike becomes a freedom machine, helping them access essential services such as food banks, schools and colleges, healthcare clinics and legal advice centres.

Over the past six years, we've given free refurbished bikes to over 7,000 refugees in the UK, helping them each save up to £1,000 a year in transport costs. That's a real life-saver: refugees aren't allowed to work and are given only £5.66 a day to survive on.

Having a bike can mean a young refugee doesn't have to choose between eating a square meal and catching the bus to go to college.

We've got more than 800 refugees on our waiting list and you can help us provide them all with bikes - simply by riding your bike, hosting a Zoom quiz - or baking cookies.

Find out more about our work - and how you can help - with our Fundraising Resources pack, including bonus cycling tips from Olympian Joanna Rowsell.

£20 donation cycling safety kit

Enough for one of the comprehensive cycling safety kits that we give to all our beneficiaries, including helmet, high-vis, lights and lock.

£50 donation kids bike

Means we can donate a kid’s bike to a young refugee for them to enjoy on family rides, plus all the gear that they need to stay safe.

£100 donation adult bike

Covers the full cost of providing one free bike to a refugee, including the kit that they need to cycle safely, plus a lesson with one of our instructors.

At RideLondon 2019, Dan absolutely crushed his fundraising target, raising an incredible £1,346.05 - enough for us to give 13 refugees their very own bike. Chapeau, sir!

But how? One word: COOKIES! Dan loves baking and successfully lured his work colleagues into making donations hand-over-fist in exchange for one of his home baked biscuity treats. Sweet!

And you (yes, you!) can do something very similar. What secret or silly skills do you have that friends, family or work pals might chuck a fiver at?
